Orehovo Village

The village of Orehovo is located 60 km north-west of Smolyan and 60 km south-west of Plovdiv. It has a population of around 370 people and an elevation of 900m. It is situated in the valley of river Oreshitsa.

From every house of the village is revealed a stunning view of mountain hills. The unique peace and quiet, the proximity of centuries-old woods and plenty of landmarks nearby turn Orehovo into a wonderful choice for mountain and eco tourism. The guests of House Dima may organize walking tours to peak Persenk which is at 2074m. altitude as well as to the many mountain chalets in the vicinity - Persenk, Kabata, Wonderful Bridges, Rocky Bridges, Loven dom. They may also walk on the ancient Roman road built on even more ancient Thracian road with well preserved pavement. Guests keen on winter sports may practice them in Chepelare - 25 km north-east of Orehovo or in Pamporovo - 35 km from the village. The resort of Narechen is 15 km from Orehovo. There are lot of beautiful places nearby the village worth visiting such as the waterfalls Duplevo and Skakaloto, the rock Kosten Kamak, Vaklite Dupki, Belintash, Krastova Gora, Wonderful Bridges, Asen's Fortress and Bachkovo Monastery.
